A NEW PIZZA EXPERIENCE FOR THE PEOPLE OF LOS ANGELES

MENU

DETROIT-STYLE PIZZA
The defining characteristic of Detroit-Style Pizza is the crust. While baking, all the cheese bleeds to the edges, creating a caramelized border - crispy & flavorful. The pizza is dense but light enough to eat with your hands. A middle ground between New York & Chicago styles, this is pizza how we know it from Michigan.

OUR STORY

Hi! We're Detroit Pizza Depot - a new pizza company founded by three dudes from Michigan. We’re on a mission to share Detroit-Style Pizza with the world.

It all started in the late 1940s. After returning home from WW2, a group of Detroit autoworkers tried recreating focaccia bread they'd discovered in Italy.

But there was a problem: they didn't have any square-shaped pans to form the dough. So they used oil pans from the factory they worked.

What popped out wasn't quite focaccia bread, but a unique take on the classic Sicilian recipe. It's known today as Detroit-Style Pizza.

This style of pizza - defined by its crispy edges & hearty substance - is prevalent in Michigan & parts of the Midwest, but difficult to find elsewhere.

We exist to change that, & we want to promote Detroit's culture of resilience & innovation along the way. We can’t wait to share a slice of the Motor City with you.
